United Church of Canada

Newfoundland and Labrador Conference

With joy in our hearts and a song on our lips we,

the Newfoundland and Labrador conference of The United Church of Canada,

believe that we are called by God to love and serve others.

Through our various shared ministries in the name of Jesus Christ,

we are called to uphold the gifts and skills in each other;

to honour differences;

to be accepting of change while honouring heritage and traditions;

to seek justice

and through all of this to know that we are not alone.

Thanks be to God

Port aux Basques is a picturesque coastal community and the gateway to Newfoundland. Our town boasts a state of the art recreation facility, a hospital, two schools and a College of the North Atlantic campus. The surrounding area has many walking/hiking trails and beautiful beaches. The congregation of Wesley United Church is seeking a one half time ordained, diaconal or lay minister to serve approximately one hundred families. Our beautiful church has undergone recent renovations. The attached hall houses an office, a kitchen and open space to accommodate one hundred people. We are presently in good financial standing . In the absence of a manse, we will work with you to find suitable accommodations. The fitting candidate should have a warm and welcoming personality who is willing to work with us to ensure the spiritual well-being of our sick and shut-ins. For more in-depth information, see the attached JNAC Report.
