Toronto Conference is seeking an individual to fill the role of Minister Mission Animator on a full-time basis (35 hrs/wk) for a 3 year term.

Minister Mission Animator, TOR SE Presbytery (ft/3yr term)
Toronto Conference is seeking an individual to fill the role of Minister Mission Animator on a full-time basis (35 hrs/wk) for a 3 year term.
The Minister Mission Animator fulfills the mission of Toronto Southeast Presbytery enabling and supporting good, faithful and healthy communities of faith within our member Pastoral Charges. They will provide opportunities for cross-congregational initiatives where individuals from Congregations with shared calls to specific ministries may work together.
This position will offer significant support in facilitating congregational revitalization, navigating through critical change and faith development initiatives.
This is a full time position that functions in a normal office environment from the Southeast Presbytery Office located in the former Wilmar Heights United Church located at 967 Pharmacy Avenue, (Pharmacy/ Ellesmere) in Scarborough. Some travel to other Presbytery offices within the Conference will be required. Attendance at evening and weekend meetings may be required.

• Knowledge of United Church policy and procedures particularly as they apply to congregations;
• Working knowledge of United Church policy and procedures regarding property ownership, sale, transfer and development, amalgamation and closure processes;
• A minimum of four years post-secondary education or appropriate life experience;
• Demonstrated skill and experience enabling people to engage intellectually, emotionally and relationally with the gospel;
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with expertise in service response, a strong customer service ethic;
• Experience working in a ‘change’ environment with the ability to transition goals and priorities into successful implementation;
• Demonstrated skills in administration, time management and situational analysis;
• Computer skills and willingness to use technology for communications;
• Recognition of personal and professional boundaries;
• Ability to work collegially with other staff and volunteers;
• A willingness and ability to travel within the Presbytery and Toronto Conference.
This is a category 7 position with an annual salary range of $51,932-69,242 (Order of Ministry Rate) or $59,074-78,766 (Lay Equivalent Rate).

Shoal Harbour Pastoral Charge is a two-point charge and is seeking a full-time minister as of July 1st, 2017. Approximately 150 families in this compact rural charge would be under United Church pastoral care. This is a co-operative and busy charge with active groups and lay readers who are always available as needed. Sunday services are held in the morning and evening in a cycle, with the minister covering both services. “Voices United, “The Hymn Book” and “Songs of the Gospel” are all in use. Each church has an Organist/Choir Director leading an adult choir. Shoal Harbour United has a small Sunday School with capable and dedicated leadership.
The candidate will possess a strong work ethic, friendly personality, possessing good pulpit skills which will be supportive, challenging and nurturing for the whole community. As is the case with our population in general, and church families in particular, ours is an aging congregation. The candidate should therefore be able to give particular attention to pastoral care, especially in home visitation for shut-ins.
A manse, with church office, is provided. Located on the Trans-Canada Highway about two hours west of St. John’s, Shoal Harbour is part of the amalgamated Town of Clarenville. With a population of over 6000, it has a modern hospital and a full range of medical, professional, educational and government services, as well as shopping and recreational facilities. Harcourt is approximately ½ hr. Drive along the shores of Smith’s Sound, has a population of approximately 200 with a mix of seniors and families who commute to work and school.

The Bishop’s University/Champlain Regional College Campus Ministry Committee is seeking a full-time Campus Minister for Bishop’s University and Champlain Regional College. The University and College share a campus situated in the bilingual community of Lennoxville (population 5,800), a borough of the city of Sherbrooke (population 154,600), Quebec, located about 150 km southeast of Montreal. The Eastern Townships region is known for offering a welcoming atmosphere, exceptional outdoor recreational opportunities, and a great quality of life.

The Campus Minister serves both Bishop’s University and Champlain Regional College,

providing pastoral services to all members of the campus community. The Campus Minister is expected to foster faith development, spirituality and social justice within a multi-faith environment, respecting and supporting the practices and traditions of all faiths. Campus Ministry is supported by the Anglican, United and Presbyterian Church traditions and serves people of all faiths.

St. Mark’s Chapel is an historic chapel that was consecrated in 1857 as an Anglican place of worship. Carefully maintained and beautifully preserved, St. Mark’s Chapel is now an ecumenical chapel serving the Bishop’s University and Champlain College community with a congregation from various denominational church backgrounds.


●       Exercise pastoral duties for Bishop’s University and Champlain College within a multi-faith environment, respecting and supporting the practices and traditions of all faiths

●       Spiritual leader to St. Mark’s Ecumenical Chapel, leading the regular chapel services as well as other events such as weddings, funerals, Convocation services, and Remembrance Day services.

●       Staff advisor to the Bishop’s/Champlain World University Service of Canada (WUSC) Student Refugee Program (SRP), actively assisting in the integration of newly arrived, sponsored refugee students into Canadian and Quebec society

●       Foster public education and advocacy roles that the Student Refugee Program plays with regard to refugee protection issues, both within the Student Refugee Program Committee itself and in the larger campus community

●       Be a member of the Student Services Committees of both Bishop’s University and Champlain College, providing help to students concerning mental health, relationships, and referrals to appropriate services


Qualifications required:

●       Ordained minister in good standing within your professional body

●       Master’s of Divinity or equivalent

●       Minimum 3 years ministerial experience

●       Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent

●       Bilingual in English and French, both written and oral

●       Good motivational and organizational skills

●       Excellent written and oral communication skills

●       Strong computer and social media skills

●       Commitment to interfaith and ecumenical relationships through cooperation and diverse activities

●       Experience with refugee sponsorship would be an asset

Nippers' Harbour Harbour Pastoral Charge is a rural 3 point pastoral charge, encompassing the communities of Nipper's Harbour, Woodstock, and Pacquet, located on the Baie Verte Peninsula between the communities of Baie Verte and La Scie. The Nipper's Harbour Pastoral Charge is seeking ministerial services (ordained, diaconcal, or designated lay minister (recognised) to fill a half-time (20 hr/wk vacancy. The pastoral charge provides a four bedroom manse with office located in Nippers' Harbour. Furnishings can be provided if needed. Salary and benefits will be provided on a 50% basis in accordance with the Schedule of Salary and Allowances 2014 of the UCC. The Fogo Island Pastoral Charge invites applications for a full time Ordained or Designated Lay Minister. Fogo Island Pastoral Charge is a one point charge located centrally on Beautiful, Picturesque Fogo Island.

Fogo Island is a vibrant active rural fishing community. Fogo Island has fast become one of the top places in the world to visit. This is contributed in part to the Shorefast Foundation, and the highly acclaimed Fogo Island Inn.


Our church presently have a congregation of about 160 families. A newly constructed Church Hall is located adjacent to our Church. We also have a church manse which includes, functional well equipped office space.

Fogo Island Pastoral Charge has morning and evening services each Sunday. The Fogo Island Ministrial Association works well together with eccumenical services throughout each year.
