United Church of Canada

Newfoundland and Labrador Conference

With joy in our hearts and a song on our lips we,

the Newfoundland and Labrador conference of The United Church of Canada,

believe that we are called by God to love and serve others.

Through our various shared ministries in the name of Jesus Christ,

we are called to uphold the gifts and skills in each other;

to honour differences;

to be accepting of change while honouring heritage and traditions;

to seek justice

and through all of this to know that we are not alone.

Thanks be to God

UCW Outreach Project

This winter, the United Church Women of Wesley United Church decided they would like to work on a special outreach project. They decided upon Sensory Mats and Fidget Blankets which have been shown to be an effective sensory stimulation therapy for individuals suffering from dementia. Wesley UCW extended an invitation to all members of our church family and other congregations to join with them in this project. Individuals who were unable to attend were given an opportunity to share by donating items for the mats and blankets, such as zippers, buttons and ribbons. On Saturday, February 16, 2019, 30 women spent the morning and afternoon at the church in fellowship and ministry as they worked on the mats and blankets. They enjoyed lunch together and, in the end created 16 of the mats and blankets. These were made available to any individuals who know of, or worked with, those suffering from dementia and the rest were donated to the Agnes Pratt Home for use with their residents.

About Us

Let your adventure in ministry begin here in the Newfoundland and Labrador Conference. This is the most easterly Conference within The United Church of Canada. A Conference whose borders are the same as the provincial borders. It's a place that Microsoft recognizes as having its own time zone. And why not. It's where the sun rises first. It's the newest province with an incredible past.
